Abstract

This work proposes an ecofeminist analysis (Brandão, 2003; Mies;Shiva, 2014) about the connections between the female body and food (Moll, 2021), specially fruits. Through the analysis and comparison of the poems “Invitation”(1984, p. 10-11) by Grace Nichols and “the art of growing” (2017, p. 94-96) by Rupi Kaur, I propose we look at the field of food beyond its nutritional character and see how fruits can be used to produce images capable of re-signifying the sexualization and undermining of the female body In western society.
