This article aims to understand how the multiple social functions of teachers shape their professional practice. Uses Norbert Elias' sociological theory, in which he starts from his figurational theory, reflecting how the interdependence chains happen in school contexts by interdependent groups of people. It is a reflective work, with a bibliographic basis, having the foundation in texts such as the Civilizing Process, The solitude of the dying, and The society of individuals, by Norbert Elias, in addition to articles and published Works that study this author. Here, we propose a reflection on the formation of the teacher, who, before takinf on this role of a teacher, has a personal and social ideology. Therefore, to analyze the webs of interdependence and configurations in which teachers are involved, can give visibility to the problems present in the function of being a teacher and contribute to the balance of the social network.
