The role of international courts in the face of the protection of LGBTI+ rights in Poland

An analysis of cases brought before the Strasbourg Court

Abstract

This article proposes to carry out an analysis of the context of the LGBTI community in Poland today, through the analysis of domestic impediments to stable union and guarantee of
fundamental rights within the country. Such violations of human rights led a group of Polish citizens to open proceedings before the Strasbourg Court, an international jurisdiction aimed at protecting the human rights of citizens of member states of the European Union.
