Abstract

Uma das questões mais delicadas no diálogo sobre a natureza religio­sa da maconaria e a atitude, amplamente difundida no seu interior, de negar a instituicão a condicão de religião ou mesmo de qualquer filiacão religiosa. Embora em alguns momentos históricos a maçonaria tenha se identificado com ideias e movimentos anticlericais, os principios que regem a instituição não podem ser considerados anti-religiosos. Ao con­trário, em seus documentos estão presentes valores que estimulam a pa­cifica e tolerante convivência entre os mais variados credos. Nosso obje­tivo, aqui, sera o de tentar compreender os sentidos das práticas e valo­res maçôonicos e suas relacões com algumas religiosidades.
