Abstract

Focusing on highlighting school cultural studies and evaluative concepts, we take literature on contemporary cultural studies that have education as its essence. We contextualize the topic of Assessment with the author Philippe Perrenoud, Cipriano Carlos Luckesi. To think about the Culture of Assessment, we use Pierre Bourdieu's theory of conservative school, cultural capital and social selection. This exercise is applied as an attempt to answer the problem: “What are the characteristics of the Assessment Culture and Exam Pedagogy – assessment as selection and regulation, based on a bibliographic analysis?”. We conclude that there is a serious urgency to break the paradigms of exam pedagogy in the school environment, supporting the ideals of an evaluation culture as decision-making and teaching-learning purposes.
