Abstract

There have been, specially after 1918, a “work on myth” regarding the Thirty Years War (1618-1648) making it a narrative to validate the new state system embodied in the League of Nations. The distortion of facts obliterated not only notorious events, such as the dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire in 1806, supposedly occurring in 1648, but the work of researches, e.g. Stephen Krasner. Whereas the scope of events is reorganized, the foundation of the state in the Congress of Viena denies the “Religious violence” to be ceased by the secularizing reason of the state, the dicotomy between a “Roman” universalism against the national sovereignties, and, affirms the conservative, or anti-revolutionary, character of the state system founded in 1815.
