17 anos das políticas de cotas: Um balanço dos desempenhos acadêmicos nas Universidades Federais

The work proposed to systematize the surveys that evaluated the performance of quota holders, over the seventeen years of affirmative policies in Brazil. Through an integrative literature review, we sought to measure them on three dimensions: (i) academic performance indexes; (ii) percentage of diploma; and (ii) evasion rate. The results indicate that in most studies there were no significant differences in performance among students, dropout rates were lower among quota holders, despite the lack of data on the degree of graduation. It is concluded that the data dispel the myth that the quality of education would be worse with the quotas, despite the relevance of the continuous monitoring of these results, since the focus on the reality of the federal institutions is still scarce.
