Abstract

O texto faz uma análise da obra de Euclides da Cunha a partir alguns parâmetros analítico como Euclides pensou e definiu sertão e o sertanejo, como ele pensou Canudos a partir de seu conhecimento teórico e metodológico, e como ele repensou tal aparato conceitual a partir do contato coma realidade brasileira. O texto enfoca, finalmente, o Euclides republicano, seus anseios e decepções,e tenta posicioná-lo no contexto cultural de seu tempo, bem como situá-lo na história da cultura brasileira
