Gênero e Desigualdades no Mercado de Trabalho da Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre: Análise sob Prisma Materialista

Abstract

O presente estudo aborda as relações de gênero e o sistema de poder que as direciona em intersecção com categorias como geração, raça/etnia e condição socioeconômica, enfocando discriminações no mundo laboral. O estudo é de natureza descritiva e centra-se na Ciência Política. A análise empírica observa dados agregados por sexo/gênero e raça/etnia relativos à Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre no período entre 1998 e 2013. Sustenta-se que a (re)produção das desigualdades e o aumento da inserção feminina no mundo laboral, ante o modelo de acumulação flexível de capital, além de não significarem melhorias de qualidade de vida, impedem o exercício da cidadania feminina, com impactos econômicos, políticos, sociais e culturais para mulheres e homens.
