CHATGPT IN MEDICAL EDUCATION AND THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Abstract

This is a scientometric study aimed at understanding the pattern of scientific communications in international circulation regarding the use of ChatGPT in medical education, in correlation with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. The search was conducted in the Dimensions database using the descriptors “ChatGPT” AND “medical education”. Out of 771 publications found, 211 were included and classified under the following Sustainable Development Goals: 4 (n=154); 3 (n=37); both 4 and 3 (n=18); and 8 (n=2). The research agenda is innovative and growing; however, regional gaps persist, particularly in South America and Africa. It is concluded that the implementation of ChatGPT in medical education is intrinsically linked to population health and well-being, as well as to professional competencies required in the workplace context.
