Abstract

In recent years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed itself from an underlying technology into a central player in the technological landscape, redefining creative processes, social dynamics and the very construction of knowledge. Considering this scenario, this study aims to reflect on the transition of AI from an imperceptible performance in everyday life to a visible and central technology in contemporary interactions, including artifacts and resources that have already been consolidated, considering ethical and social dilemmas arising from this new era of algorithmic omnipresence. The methodology was a narrative literature review, with a thematic scope, with an exploratory bias based on a qualitative approach, making it basic research. The results produced a reflection on the perception, from a temporal perspective, of the trajectory of AI to current generative systems, relating emerging ethical issues such as authorship, algorithmic bias, racism and information manipulation. It concludes that society faces a critical mismatch permeated by the ramification and implementation of the most current form of AI, Generative AI, through a variety of resources and applications. It should be noted that the speed of technological adoption outstrips the capacity for responsible assimilation, requiring new transdisciplinary structures that consider human particularities in relation to algorithmic development, preserving authentic creativity and critical thinking.
