Abstract

This article aims to understand the dialectical perspective between the canonical and the innovative in the literary text sphere, with the main objective of investigating how both are configured in the teaching and learning of children’s literature, considering contemporary technological advances. Starting from qualitative research, of a bibliographic nature, the reflection is anchored in theoretical references of literature, education, critical theory and literary criticism, mobilizing the concepts of incompressible good, from Antonio Cândido and literary criticism, by Roberto Schwarz, to dialogue with authors who discuss the proposed topic. Among the results, the power achieved by the dialogue between innovation and tradition for the teaching and learning of children’s literature stands out, which without excluding one of them exacerbates the human dimension of educating and learning.
