WHAT LEADS TO OR PREVENTS THE RISING OF TOTALITARISM
A COMPARATIVE BETWEEN POLISH AND GERMAN HISTORIES (1918-1945)
Abstract
This article intends to investigate the coexistence of events that lead both to a totalitarism and to a Independence, which will be shown by making a paralel between the history of two neighboring countries during the same time clipping: Poland and Germany of the XX century. Through the comparative method, it is meant to demonstrate that the elements the literature agrees as reason of the leading to the barbarisms of the german National-socialism, also inflated the polish nationalism. Furthermore, they would have fomented the culmination to the processes initiated formally in 1918, during the Convention of Vienna: the resurgence of Poland’s rightful State and its Independence.
