Abstract

This article presents an integrative literature review on the relationship between School Physical Education, Health-Promoting Schools (HPS), and teacher education in the Amazonian context. Considering the urgency of a critical and culturally situated education for public school teachers, the study analyzes national and international scientific publications that address pedagogical knowledge, collaborative practices, and the challenges faced in the implementation of intersectoral health actions in schools. Articles published between 2013 and 2024 in the SciELO, Google Scholar, and ERIC databases were included. The results highlight the relevance of Physical Education as an integrating axis between education, care, and territory, reinforcing the need for teacher education grounded in critical pedagogies, collaborative methodologies, and the development of context-based educational resources. The article concludes that HPS can serve as spaces of cultural resistance and social transformation, especially in regions marked by historical vulnerabilities and educational inequalities.
