Abstract

This article discusses the application of the Genre-Based Pedagogy from the Sydney School (PGES) and the Teaching and Learning Cycle (CEA), both grounded in Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL), as didactic tools in teacher education. Based on theoretical studies and practical experiences, it analyzes their contributions to reading and writing instruction aligned with the BNCC. In times of cultural resistance and rapid social change, these approaches foster inclusive and plural education, expanding teacher training beyond the classroom.
