MEDIA, TECHNOLOGIES AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN BRAZIL: A GENEALOGICAL DESCRIPTION

The text is a documentary analysis whose sources originate from a portion of the academic-scientific production of agents in the field of Physical Education (PE) in Brazil that is dedicated to thinking, systematizing, pedagogizing and investigating aspects related to media and technologies in PE, here addressed as the subfield of media and technology in PE. Configuring as a historical sociology, a genealogical analysis of the sources produced and published during the period from 1997 to 2017 (twenty years) was performed, in which it is possible to observe an intense and important movement of constitution and consolidation of what can be called “media education in PE” (both in teacher training and in research and academic publications).
