Abstract

Given the onto-epistemological intertwining between queer theory and environmental education, queer ecopedagogies emerge as an approach that challenges normativities and opens up space for new reflections on identity, gender and sexuality in the environmental field - a topic that, in Latin American reality, still remains largely silenced. This work investigates the practice of queer ecopedagogies with Vida Alegre, a community of LGBTI+ elderly people in Mexico City, where, through autobiographical and autofictional writing, dissident stories emerge that reveal significant learning-teaching processes for more-than-human cohabitation in the urban context. It is a proposal to bring these other bodies to the center of the environmental debate, contributing to queerizing our research and imagining other possible worlds - worlds where living, loving and dying are experiences anchored in diversity.
