This review aims to analyze studies that address the communicative process between the early childhood education institution and their respective families during the pandemic period. The review was conducted in the Web of Science and Scopus databases and observed two stages, the first analyzed the abstracts and the second the full text, based on the defined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Eligibility resulted in twenty-seven studies that had data extracted and analyzed. It can be concluded that communication with families was fundamental to early childhood practices. It is recognized that the use of alternative tools of personal communication helped teachers and families to increase the frequency of reciprocal communication and to remain engaged, but families without access to the necessary resources are identified, which hindered the child's communicative process and learning.
