The 12th Environmental Education Research Meeting (EPEA), held in Matinhos, Paraná, and organized by the Federal University of Paraná, took place from April 13 to 17, 2025, under the central theme Training environmental educators: research with. The event brought together the academic and professional community in the field, consolidating itself as a space for dialogue and for strengthening Environmental Education research in Brazil.
In total, 225 papers were submitted, of which 196 were accepted and 156 presented, distributed across nine Research Discussion Groups (GDPs):

Each GDP selected three full papers, necessarily presented at the meeting, which met specific evaluation criteria involving: clarity of problematization, relevance and dialogue with the literature; theoretical consistency; methodological coherence; evidence in results and discussions; as well as contributions to the field of Environmental Education.
Although three papers declined publication, 24 articles make up this special issue of the Revista Sergipana de Educação Ambiental (REVISEA), the result of the selection process of the 12th EPEA. This issue celebrates the diversity, theoretical density, and social relevance of ongoing research, inviting readers to delve into the debates and reflections gathered here.
